“With heart, family and dedication since 2018 – the people behind Bab Kisan”

As a native of Damascus, Elyas Hannoun, who came to Germany with his family in 2013, has specialized in the cuisine of his hometown, which holds a similar significance in the Middle East as French cuisine does in Europe. Its influences can also be found throughout Syria and in many neighboring countries. This is why he chose the name "Bab Kisan," which refers to one of Damascus's most visited city gates. He grew up in the culturally significant Bab Touma district, known for its beauty, history, and excellent food.

Since 2018, Elyas has been offering his catering services and cooking classes, following several internships at luxury hotels in Germany and leading large culinary projects in Berlin. His food was so highly praised by satisfied customers that demand steadily increased. From mid-August 2024, Bab Kisan has been located at a new site in Alt-Moabit, offering an expanded concept with a small restaurant including an outdoor area – something many satisfied customers have been eagerly awaiting. Now, you can enjoy his delicious food not only at events but also on-site in a wonderful atmosphere.
